Artisan Development Academy (Pty) Limited (“Artisan Dev”, “the Company” or “ADA”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edinvest (Pty) Limited, a 100% black-owned investment holding group of companies, with investments in education, skills development and training. Artisan Dev is an accredited institution and is aligned for Apprentice Training, related artisan training interventions, NQF programmes and Trade Testing.

Artisan Development academy is a skills development provider (SDP) as well as Trade Test Centre. It is the private training institution that specialises on Apprenticeship /Artisan training, Learnerships, ARPL and short courses. Artisan Dev comprises of different campuses, namely: Berea Campus, Phoenix Campus, Jet Park Campus, and subsidiary sister campus i.e., Simtech Campus.

Artisan Dev is the successor to Umbani Training Centre, which was established in 2001.A direct response to the country’s technical skills dearth and the scourges of unemployment and poverty, the Company avails an avenue through which the crowns of creation can realize their true worth. Accredited with 5 Sector Education Training Authority (SETAs) and the Quality Council for Trade and Occupations
(QCTO), Artisan Dev has, in the past 5 years, grown to become one of the largest privately-owned apprentice training and trade testing centers in the country.

Our thrust to attain World Class engineering center of excellence standards is unrelenting. We have established a unit that specialises in what we have categorised as Engineering Trades. The unit offers engineering related training and development accredited with MERSETA, CHIETA, and Services SETA.

Artisan Dev Engineering also offers customised training to companies as it is acutely aware of the
peculiarities of companies and individuals. Our products and services, as interventions, are responsive
to the needs of the trainees or the funders of the programmes.

RPL

RPL is a critical cog in unlocking the true potential of the nation’s workforce. Some of the skills shortages in the economy can be addressed much quicker via the RPL route. RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) is a
process that involves the assessment of an individual’s relevant prior learning (including formal, informal and non-formal learning) to determine the credit outcomes. It is the acknowledgement of skills and knowledge that may have been obtained through formal training or study, work experience including paid and unpaid volunteer work and even life experiences. Our RPL Centre, was borne out of the
need to conduct “RPLing” for diverse range of qualifications and trades across the country. The division has qualified and experienced personnel with many years in the training and skills development arena including assessment and moderation of POEs.

SHARED
SERVICES

Our shared service division provides efficiency, value generation, cost savings and improved service for the operating entities’ support services. This approach has enabled us to optimise on people, capital,time and other corporate resources through economies of scale. Our brand and promise of premier quality is also standardised and preserved through our shared services model. The following are the support

Project Management

The operating entities under the Artisan Dev stable implement a number of projects concurrently.
The Project Management capacity is a critical ingredient to the success of the projects as it ensures
effective and efficient planning and monitoring of projects. Our Project Management Unit was set
up by PWC between 2014 and 2016, wherein they seconded a full time resource for initiation. We
are our proud of our Project Management Capacity to execute projects on time, meeting the right
quality and within budget.

Quality Assurance

We model our training companies along world-class training companies and strive to surpass
the minimum standards set by the regulatory authorities. We have a pedantic internal audit
department which ensures compliance to all the requirements of our businesses from inception
to closure.
